I’m back…. I think.

This isn’t where I thought I’d find myself.

My life is wonderful and hard, beautiful and ugly.

Married to the most wonderful man who loves me and cares for me.

Un-diagnosed illness wreaking havoc on my body.

A little house and cat I love to pieces.

Wanting to have our *own* house and a yard and a family but knowing that’s going to have to wait, for now.

I’ve struggled with coming back to this blog because I’m not any of these things

But that’s not why I started this.

I started this to share the journey.

But there’s an unconscious expectation that it’s going to look pretty.

Because that’s what we see.

But the truth is, even if I had all the things I am longing for,

There would still be struggles.

It still wouldn’t be picture perfect.

Because life isn’t perfect.

Life is wonderful and hard, beautiful and ugly.

The good and the bad intertwine.

Because this world is not our home.

We will never be at home here.

God gives us the struggles to remind us of that,

To work our sinfulness out to make us more like Him,

Prepare us for someday when we will be at home.

But He gives us the good because He loves us, his children.

1 Corinthians 4:16-18

Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,

while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Lamentations 3:37-38

Who is he who speaks and it comes to pass,

When the Lord has not commanded it?

Is it not from the mouth of the Most High

That woe and well-being proceed?

Isaiah 45:7

I form the light and create darkness,

I make peace and create calamity;

I, the Lord, do all these things.’

Ecclesiastes 7:13-14

Consider the work of God;

For who can make straight what He has made crooked?

In the day of prosperity be joyful,

But in the day of adversity consider:

Surely God has appointed the one as well as the other,

So that man can find out nothing that will come after him.
